What Is It?
The Edexcel International Tuition Programme (EITP) is an intensive modular Junior Secondary Programme taught over 18 months and divided into six terms. Its main purpose is to give students a thorough preparation for entry into the internationally recognized IGCSE programme (formerly known as 'O' level). The EITP curriculum incorporates the best elements of the UK National Curriculum.
Who Is It For?
The EITP programme is mainly for students in the 12-14 age group who have completed six years of primary education in their own country and want to continue their education in an international environment. It is open to expatriate families residing in, or planning to move to Singapore, Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents and to overseas students who meet the criteria for obtaining a student pass.
What Will I Study?
The EITP programme provides a broadly based Junior Secondary curriculum. You will study a total of five academic subject areas together with choices from Computing and Information Technology (CIT), Art (Fine Art) and Physical Education (PE) as extra-curricular options. Maths and English provide a firm foundation for the study of three additional core subject areas, providing a good balance between Humanities (History and Commerce), Sciences (Physics, Chemistry and Biology), as well as Modern Languages (Chinese).
Academic Progression
After successfully completing the EITP programme at Insworld, you will have had a strong all round education at Junior Secondary level. This will enable you to continue on to the IGCSE Programme at Insworld. There you will follow a carefully customized programme that matches both your individual interests and abilities with your future career and study plans.
Entry Requirements
In addition to successful completion of your Primary Education (Primary School Leaving Certificate or equivalent) there is an English language entry requirement. Insworld recognizes two English language tests, TOEFL and IELTS. To enter, you must have a minimum of 173 in TOEFL or 4.0 in IELTS. As an alternative, you can take the Insworld English Language Entry Test, which is equivalent to IELTS and TOEFL.
