Junior College ('A' Level)

What Is It?
The London Edexcel ‘A’ Level Programme at Insworld is an intensive programme that is usually taught over 18 months and divided into six terms. However, the duration can vary depending on the student's entry qualifications.

London Edexcel is the UK’s largest and most popular ‘A’ Level Examination body.  London Edexcel ‘A’ Level examinations are widely taken both by top state and private schools in the UK and leading international schools worldwide. London Edexcel is the only ‘A’ Level examination body that is examined simultaneously in the UK and internationally. This means you will be taking your London Edexcel ‘A’ Level examinations at exactly the same time as students in the UK and elsewhere around the world.

Each subject you take in the London Edexcel programme is divided into 4 or 6 units. You will take a separate examination or submit a piece of extended coursework for each unit as you progress on the course. This allows you to study at your own pace and gain the confidence necessary to get top grades.

Who Is It For?
The London Edexcel ‘A’ Level programme is for students who have completed the IGCSE programme at Insworld or elsewhere or have completed High School in their own country. Students should be at least 16 years old and seriously interested in preparing for entry into university.  It is open to expatriate families residing in, or planning to move to Singapore, Singapore nationals and Permanent residents and to overseas students who meet the criteria for obtaining a student pass.

Academic Progression
The London Edexcel ‘A’ Level Programme is a recognized pathway to top universities worldwide. Insworld Institute has been teaching the Edexcel ‘A’ Level Programme since it was first established as Insworld School in 2001.

Since that time, many of our graduating ‘A’ Level students have progressed to renowned universities worldwide.  Edexcel ‘A’ Levels are not just accepted by universities in the UK. Since Insworld was established ten years ago, many of our students have entered universities in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Canada and the USA. In fact, many American and Canadian universities regard Edexcel ‘A’ Levels as the equivalent of the freshman year (Yr 1) and you can, therefore, often enter the sophomore year (Yr 2) directly.

Entry Requirements
In addition to having completed either, the London Edexcel IGCSE Programme or High School in your own country you must fulfil our English Language entry requirement. Insworld recognizes two English Language tests, TOEFL and IELTS. To enter the London Edexcel ‘A’ Level programme you must have a minimum of 196 in TOEFL or 5.5 in IELTS.
As an alternative you can take the Insworld English Language Entry test which equates to IELTS and TOEFL.
