What Is It?
The International GCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) Programme at Insworld is an intensive programme that is usually taught over 18 months and divided into six terms. However, the duration can vary depending on the student's entry qualifications.
The IGCSE at Insworld is examined by London Edexcel. London Edexcel is the UK’s largest examination body and its IGCSE Exams are offered by many International Schools around the world and by many top private schools in the UK. Previously, education at this level was referred to as GCE 'O' Level. The IGCSE programme at Insworld is taught on an intensive basis over 18 months divided into six terms.
Who Is It For?
The IGCSE Programme is for students who have either completed the Edexcel International Tuition Programme (EITP) at Insworld or who have completed Junior High School in their own country. Generally, students should be at least 14 years old and be interested in continuing their education in a diverse, cosmopolitan, international environment. It is open to expatriate families residing in, or planning to move to Singapore, Singapore Nationals and Permanent Residents and to overseas students who meet the criteria for obtaining a student pass.
What Will I Study?
You will study a total of six or more individual subjects. Maths and English provide a firm foundation for the study of four or more additional subjects from the list below. Any combination of subjects is possible but you will be advised which subjects are necessary if you want to eventually study for a professional degree at university like, Law, Medicine or Engineering

• English as a Second Language

• Physics
* Availability of some subjects may vary from term to term.
Examinations are available in either January or May and you will be awarded a certificate for the subjects passed. Although Chinese as a Second Language is available as an option, unlike some other programmes you are not required to pass a second language in order to gain a certificate.
Academic Progression
After successfully completing the IGCSE programme at Insworld you will have obtained a strong all round education at Upper Secondary Level.This will enable you to continue to the London Excel ‘A’ Level programme at Insworld where you will follow a carefully constructed programme that provides a pathway to universities worldwide, including leading institutions in the UK, USA, Australia, Canada and Singapore.
It is very important that if you want to continue with a subject at A Level, you must get a good grade at IGCSE.
Entry Requirements
In addition to having successfully completed your Junior Secondary Education (EITP or equivalent), you need to fulfil our English Language Entry requirement. Insworld recognizes two English Language Entry Tests, TOEFL and IELTS. To enter the IGCSE programme, you must have a minimum of 192 in TOEFL or 4.5 in IELTS. As an alternative, you can take the Insworld English Language Entry Test which is equivalent to IELTS and TOEFL.
If you have not fully completed your Junior Secondary Education, you will be required to enrol onto an appropriate preparatory certificate course, such as the Edexcel International Tuition Programme (EITP)
