Awarding Body

University of London Edexcel is the awarding body for all academic programmes at Insworld, with the exception of English for Academic Studies (EAS), which leads to the IELTS qualification. Edexcel qualifications are recognised worldwide and, as a result, students are able to progress to top universities worldwide.

Edexcel is the UK’s largest academic awarding body and is regulated by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA). The QCA is the official UK government body responsible for the development, accreditation, assessment and certification of all UK qualifications.

Edexcel is particularly well known for its ‘A’ Level programme. It is the only ‘A’ Level programme taken by both top state and private schools in the UK and leading international schools worldwide.  With Edexcel, students take exactly the same exams at exactly the same time, all over the world. Annually, 3 million students take Edexcel examinations in 85 different countries. ‘A’ Levels are regarded as the “Gold Standard” for university entrance worldwide.

Edexcel allows students to choose their own combination of subjects at ‘A’ Level allowing them to specialise in disciplines that lead to 400 different majors at university, including Medicine, Engineering and Law. Edexcel ‘A’ Levels are particularly student friendly due to their modular approach. Unlike many traditional ‘A’ Level bodies, Edexcel ‘A’ Levels allow you to study at your own pace. Subjects are divided into four or six units, with each one being examined separately. Students study each unit in depth allowing for the development of the high level skills of analysis, evaluation, problem solving and critical thinking. These skills are essential for success in the modern world. To find out more about Edexcel click here.
